Saw it finally yesterday night. Yes it indeed was good and I unjoyed it pretty much too . But still I didn't really understood Pyramid Head's meaning IN THERE. Way to uncertain what he really represented (unlike in Silent Hill 2 game). Does anyone have clue? Also one pacient demon is not enough for whole movie but otherwise nurses where disturbing accent. Thumbs up nevertheless. Now shall wait for DVD to appear.

I don't think pyramid head had any higher meaning in the film than "big nasty bastard with an unnecessarily large knife". While half of the SH fan community are complaining about the lack of relevance to PH's meaning in SH2, it's fairly safe to say that the whole lot of them would've been up in arms if neither hide nor hair of him had made an appearance.
May the events of SH2 are occurring at the same time; they do, after all, take place in a different part of the town. And who knows where pyramid head goes when he vanishes off unexpectedly, and where he's been when he turns up again?

I guess I would agree with you that is way more interesting sometimes not to know or leave unrevealed some answers for this may be a good space for personal iterpretation. Otherwise obviously they are there to keep the vibe. The Janitor thing appeared very briefly though I am not familiar with that one 'cos I hadn't chance to play the first SH (I believe he is from there) I walked through only the second.

The janitor was created specifically for the film, though the effect he has on the surfaces in the room directly reflects one characteristic of the ghosts from SH4: The Room. I'd recommend giving the first and third a proper go; they go further into the "hell" than SH2, as evidenced by the tone of the film.

I've just started SH3 after putting 2 aside for a bit. SH3 is MUCH more terrifying. It's awesome so far!

Yeah, SH3 goes further in the scares department. But; SH2 has the best story of the bunch by a good way, which gives it the top spot for me.

Indeed. Psychological aspect is more common in SH 2 than in the others I guess which makes it's story line a lot more dimensional.

In my opinion, Silent Hill 2 is by far the best game in terms of torrid and ripping psychological terror. The others serve (at least to me) to be terrific frightening ventures, yet only Silent Hill 1 seems to truly encapture any other psychological feel to me. Indeed, I thought 2's story was by far the better, albeit it started far too typically for my liking. Nonetheless, I have liked (albeit not finished) the first 3 so far, and have not played 4, due to some horrid reviews from others.
On the topic... I have still not seen the film. As the day I went to see it in theaters was the day that it (of course) was taken out. It seems I shall have to wait until August 22 before I can get my claws upon it.

I've only just watched the video with Bjork redubbed over the top of it. What a perfect juxtaposition (if you know the necessary background anyway). Goosepimpletastic.

So maybe collaboration between Bjork and Yamaoka for one track or another would be a good idea after all. I believe she would fit the bill.
