just over an hour to go!!!!!!!!!
the comics where ok nice art but the writer completly missed the point of SH they keep trying to explain away too much as demons and magic and ancient books of knowledge ect

it was quite good, we rather unjoyed it, wont hype it up too much but needless to say that it was more than enough to get the inspiration glands pulsating and pumping the filthy black ichor of NO round our carcases ect ect yeah it wronged us up the bad side of NO

So, is that a recommendation to go and see it, or not? I think someone needs some speech corrective "therapy"...

the music fit the movie, however i felt it should've been darker... also the plot advanced a little too quickly for my likings... perhaps if they had just not let the husband through to give the silent hill part more time...

The music was good, I agree the movie wasn't quite dark enough, but there were good moments of atmospheric terror there. However, I thought they messed up slightly. SH has a lot of fear-inducing potential which I feel they didn't exploit enough! Ah well, the ending 20 mins wasn't to my liking either. When the sirens go off and the place turns to desolation and decay...now I was feeling that!

I honestly thought this film was pretty near perfect. The pacing, the story, even the acting was groovy and not annoying. The cop could have been played really poorly and OTT masculine but I thought she did it well.
The effects were stunning (pyramid-head took the show for me! soooooooooo damn good) and the music spot on. Just the whole style and look of it did it for me. And when the sirens went off I could feel ever part of me tense.
It wasn't particularly scary conventionally (no relying on sudden jumpy parts) but I thought the ideas and the way they were put across were awesome. Disturbing.
One bit though.....when she's in the hospital...the wheelchair in the hallway....is this becoming some sort of horror movie cliche or was it a nod to Session 9? I would hope for the latter.

Was it a nod to The Axis...? The sane movie-goers can only hope it isn't for their own sakes!

I would think it much more likely to be a nod to Session 9

its an original game theme, wheelchairs in corridors that is, its where both us and session 9 nicked it from.

Though perversely, there's a particular wheelchair shot in SH3 that references the opening of "Session 9" - it seems to be mutual back-slapping all round, really.

I think the wheelchair is more something common to abandoned hospitals and such, I think. My guess is that they picked up on it from there.

on a side note, my friends went to Centralia, Pennsylvania the town which the film version based its setting off of while I was fuckin working... Coal fires there started in 1962 and are still burning, town condemned 40 or less people still living there with weekly church services... community.webshots.com/album/550362015FZaBkj
