Menace Ruine french canadian neo folk/marshal industrial/noise project just got the new album 'union of the irreconcilables' (and a snazzy shirt) from Aroura Borialis. excellent album but certainly an aquired taste, it nearly made my GF cry. is there any chance some one can rip the new BAN LP as its going to be a while before i can afford a record player

New album by Deathspell Omega is really good. This time compositions are tight and well constructed. Very straightforward but still very twisted. "Abscission" is perhaps the favorite track on the album. It is also perhaps one of the finest songs in their repertoire in my opinion. A good closure to their so ambitiously set trilogy. I also like their gradually loosing gain of distortion over every new release. Riffs now are a lot more clear, chaotic though, but structure and details are a bit more apparent this time than on "Fas..." due to production nuances. Great work really. Chaotic, Dense, but somehow easy to digest to. Now that's archievement!

I should get the new Deathspell early this week. I'm enjoying the new AboryM album a lot although it takes some time and patience to fully get it (but then, most good albums do!). Concept reminds me strongly of 'Deleted Scenes...' and the ambient track (with Italian spoken word) is similar to something on Urfe of maybe even 'One day you will understand why' with the feeling of wrongness.

The new DSO is exceptional stuff. "Fas" was great but it was edging on too jazzy for me, though still awesome, but the new one does much more for me with its relative straightforwardness (but not -too- straightforward) injection of world-weary melancholy. It is really cool how they've scaled back the gain to the extent they have, it now almost seems more like a kind of stygian prog rock than metal per se.

I'm pleased I can actually hear the guitars and I think the new album is stunning. It's more approachable, but not in a bad way at all. It's taking up a lot of my time. World-weary is a good shout, I found certain parts quite depressing.

So Burzum, are you going to disappoint me again? Yes, yes you are. How many drumbeats do you know, Varg? Four? Or less....? Somewhere my sixteen-year-old self is weeping....

Derelict World by False Mirror is very nice indeed. Ambient that you can just let wash over you. Conjures images of sunken shipwrecks and hidden submerged dangers. Not the darkest of dark ambient, it's quite lush though. Front cover art is ace, too.

The recent gems I can name would be these: Virus (Norway) - Agent That Shapes The Desert Awesome album. As good as previous one, but maybe a little bit more aggressive I think. Everything what we call weird, is natural attribute to this band. It is like some sort otherworldly swing rock. I believe Kristoffer Rygg Garm contributed some vocal lines. Altar Of Plagues - Mammal I largely sympathize to their concept, and so am quite impressed by newest album. Utterly bleak, soaked with hopelessness and vibes of dystopia. Tremendous. Finally, the biggest surprise comes to happen to be USA power electronics legend Slogun with it's newest album We Human Animal. I personally don't enjoy any of his previous works, but this new one is something completely different, atmospheric and most importantly, interesting. My applause.
