Been to small doom evening yesterday. Longing for Dawn, Mournful Congregation, Mourning Beloveth did awesome set. LFD were the most atmospheric but very short. MC were the heaviest. Live they sound extremely good and gave greater enjoyment than on the records. MB i've seen 2 times in less than a year. Emotional, and at times even epic. Impressive. All three bands kicked hard really and brought tremendous enjoyment. Also got a chance to chat with Fredric Arbour from LFD/Cyclic Law/Visions. Very cool and dedicated person.

Anyone from the UK going to go to Ulver in October? I think I might well do although I heard the Scandinavian gig wasn't all it was cracked up to be (but then I heard that from someone with different tastes in music to I).

I saw Ulver at Brutal Assault festival and it was magnificent!!! Excellent. Then I shall go! Did they stick to their more ambient stuff (as I suspect) or did any older BM creep in? I'm up for just the ambient to be honest.

No Black metal...they played only electronic stuff + they had fantastic video-projection

It's been a while since anyone posted here anything... This weekend I had a chance to see Irish lads Altar Of Plagues and French Monarch. Well, my band Inquisitor were local support, so it was inevitable anyway... When I first knew it, it was like "that's too good to be true!" Since I'm big supporter of their concept, so it was one of those bands I really wished to see. They gave very powerful and sincere performance, completely exhausting themselves. And so I completely wasted my neck during their set. Monarch were a lovely surprise. Blackened sludge drone mass, with dark ambient attitude. Highly recommended for everyone here, if you haven't checked them yet. After party was usual, you know. Hanging out, getting drunk, groupies and other cool stuff... ;D

Few months ago I had an opportunity to see Nurse with Wound. Actually I was never really into NWW, but probably it's their cult status that drove me not to miss the show. And I'm glad I attended it. The performance was surreal, at some points hinting strong vibes ala David Lynch. It was like some sort of subconscious darkness in the first half, and the psychotic noise-rock madness in the second (which became irritating rather quickly). Together with NWW there also was a guy named Andrew Liles (another cult figure, who among other things re-constructed the brilliant Bass Communion "Ghosts On Magnetic Tape". He made some chaotic and very expressive show, which might seem random, but one can clearly could see years of experience in his performance. That evening was weird as hell...Even wake-up bat in the chamber was probably convinced about that:D

Had a chance to see Mikko Aspa with his Grunt thing for a second time. As usually a guy is very much concerned about perverse things and acts, though the visual material was less provocative this time. Nevermind his obsessions, the set was good, well balanced and dynamic. There was harshness and there was atmosphere. Typical, maybe even predictable at some points, but enjoyable nevertheless. It is not that often I can see a decent PE. On that note, I finally (probably) will see CONTROL from USA this October, and that's something I missed in 2004 when together with him there was Slogun, Sickness and Skm-Etr.

Last Monday had an awesome gig with my fellas Dereliction. I provided industrial ambient and noises as Velemara. We opened for Witch Mountain amd Cough from US. It was very experimental approach, but rather successful, I think. An hour of intense black death metal with industrial counterparts. Here is a little glimpse into it: DERELICTION feat. VELEMARA
