Didn't want to make a limited topic so I chose a wide-ranging subject title. However, I'm going to talk about the Emperor gig I went to yesterday at the Astoria in London. TOO PACKED!!! Good sound and a good performance but the sound was muffled by the amount of people between the speakers and me at times and there was no room to even headbang. I'm sure the reviews will be great but this was my 3rd and worse Emperor gig. Damn.
I'll stick to small venues in future I think. Come back The Axis!! By the way, I wore my Axis T-shirt with pride, disappointed to see that no other bugger had one.

A couple of my flatmates from uni went to that, but for lack of money I would've made it down myself. I saw them in Bradford in '99 and it was fantastic, but the setlist for the London show looked just that bit tastier...

I envy you a lot guys because you saw The Emperor. My last impressive gig was industrial one I've mentioned before. Damn Megaptera was killer...

I'd like to go to see a dark ambient-ish act live. However, the reviews can often be bad (I'm looking at Raison d'être as an example here).

Right, this may not be entirely relevant to this group of people...but on Sunday (25th Feb) I fulfilled my ambition of finally seeing Nine Inch Nails live. The past few times I've missed them and been utterly gutted but this time I managed to get there and I can honestly say it was one the best gigs I've ever been to.
The sound was perfect, the setlist fantastic...they played a brilliant mix of all their material and every member of the band was going nuts and totally into it.
'Hurt' was definately the highlight of the evening and I dare anyone to say they were there and not be touched by the performance.
The only problem was that an awful lot of the crowd was really bloody rude. Shoving and trying to force their way past me and my mate to the point of me (not being a violent or confrontational person in the slightest) turning round and giving an earful to someone who would usually easily kick ten balls of shit out of me. But having said that...this wasn't a major problem and certainly didn't ruin the night for me...despite this particular filthy, stink-human interrupting 'Head Like A Hole'!!
I can't wait for the new album 'Year Zero' in April and will be lovingly molesting my ears with every other album until.

There was a little Cold Meat Industry festival in my town yesterday. The performances of IRM and Brighter Death Now was rather impressive. Especially BDN. It was like standing at core of cosmic Chaos. The sound was entrails-lacerating but not deafening. Strange as it may seem. I usualy use earplugs but this time the sound was almost perfect so I did't need them. This is actually one of the most powerful things I've ever witnessed. There also was Deutsch Nepal and Atomine Elektrine who tend to let down a bit... But that was good gig overall.

Yesterday I visited Negura Bunget and Adultery gig. Pure ecstasy, it was one of the Adultery´s last concerts, so they put maximum to their show, energic and somehow even sad, but it was worthy farewell. Negura Bunget brought some very heavy atmosphere. Sound was perfect it sounded as great as on the cd. For me personally Conoas terea tacuta was highlight of the show, even that on primary school, teacher of music totally discouraged me of using clean vocals, I had to sing along with negura (and whole hall) it was just great. Negura´s singer even told us "Cheers" (Na zdraví in czech) before drinking his beer.

Brutal Assault the 12th two weeks ago. Jeez what a pit of dirt but otherwise entertaining. Finally I witnessed few bands I was really interested to see. Must say Enslaved were supreme. DHG guys did some turmoil. I discovered She Said Destroy. Keep of Kalessin dissappinted a bit because of their sound. I was rather impressed by Madder Mortem. Satyricon made fools of themselves for few minutes of their performance although they were not bad. Red Harvest killed my ears. Thats pretty much in few sentencies. Today i will going to Northaunt and Svartsinn again for alomost no price.

And by whom you've been impressed or just satisfied? The most "impressive" thing I gues it was countless drunkards all over the place. Colouring walls with their piss I felt like I suddenly awoke in post-apocalyptic world. Trashes everywhere...

Well I was at dunkelheit festival this weekënd, mostly true bm bands showed, but Iperyt and Shining were interesting enough even for a people with a more interesting taste....Kvarforth went mad theatrically and vocally...Attila was supposed to show up but he didn´t but Kvarforth was singing as insane as he could....(But Attila is still better)
For me the highlist of the festival were the... 1. Infernal war 2. Inferno 3. Shining 4. Iperyt

Whenever I book a holiday, I find out a few weeks afterwards that I miss a band I really want to see live (and there really isn't that many!). 2 weeks in Montenegro has cost me a Dodheimsgard gig. Bah! Will hopefully get to see Enslaved, though in a couple of months.

Yesterday I was in Prague and attended it was fucking great. Although Raison quite dissapointed me, Empusae and Xabec were good enough to make my evening great.

I've been to Bitterfeldt last month. The Festung Open Air was taking place over there. This festival mostly consists of black, oldschool black/thrash some death metal but generally it was <Code> that drew me there. Solstafir and and Enslaved were very tempting opportunity as well. And impressive they were! The french Arkhon Infaustus were the first to took my attention. Their performance was powerful and twisted. A lot more efficient than what I hear on the recordings. <Code> did a remarkable show. It was one of my little desires to see them live. Never thought I'll have a chance to see them with Kvohst. Damn I'll have to get my ass to Brutal Assault to see them again. Solatafir were very atmospheric even on stage. I'd say they looked comfortably weird and sounded that way too. They even presented a brand new song. It was stunning. Enslaved. Hm...they were flawless but not so immerssive as when I saw them first time. The same set and the same order. Thumbs up anyway. The most ridiculous band during the the festival were norwegian The Battalion. Couldn't stop LOL'ing at them.
