How could I forget one very unique and very "wrong" death metal band namely Gorguts from Canada Extremely twisted and extremely discordant. I stongly suggest to check out latest works "Obscura" and "From Wisdom to Hate" if you haven't. You'll definitely feel like somethings crawls upon your brain ;D Also I absolutely recommend Virus from Norway and it's only album "Carheart". Very surrealistic and quite jazzy avantgarde rock/metal whatever thing with some subtle black metal touches. Stylish.

I honestly doubt that any of you haven't heard it but anyway I would strongly suggest to go for LITHIVM from Sweden (courtesy of CMI of course) and it's yet only album "Treshhold of Disharmony". You will definitely feel like you are home. Ominous dark ambient Also guys who runs LITHIVM Gustaf Hildebrand has put out album "Primordial Resonance" last year. Check it out.

Hrm... well, for those on the more "kvlt" Black Metal leaning, I would suggest Black Lodge from France. They're hyper-industrialized Black Metal with some massive leanings on Technology and Drugs (if you're into the latter). Their new album "Solarkult" just came out, I believe. I don't believe it's for everyone, and it's quite violent, so be wary if you're not normally into this stuff. I just received this after finding it a nightmare to get hold of! It came from The Netherlands in the end. It's excellent though I think an appreciation of harder trance or techno could be in order to appreciate it. Quite Dodheimsgard/Void/Aborym-like.

Now I would find myself on the opposite side as I found french Blacklodge quite boring for my taste. I discovered nothing outstanding except forced extremism. I would prefer their inspiration Mysticum instead even though they proclaim their "drug salvation" too something I stand against personally. Well, just opinion...

I just like things that are a bit different. After 4-5 listens, I found Blacklodge to have many good riffs and ideas for my tastes. Maybe I'm just not that fussy. I got 'In the streams of Inferno' by Mysticum on red vinyl. It is great, I do agree.
At the mo, track 3 (I think!) on the most recent Raison d'ĂȘtre album- Metamorphyses is giving me the shivers.

The new Spektr album on Candlelight- 'Near Death Experience' is fantastic in my opinion. Loads of scary dark ambience with BM too. I can draw parrallels with The Axis although the atmosphere is different. If you get the CD, listen to the whole album before watching the video track or you risk previewing most of the tracks. The video offers some good frights too, though!

I'm really into Raison d'ĂȘtre at the moment. I have the 'Requiem for Abandoned Souls', 'Metamorphyses' and 'The Empty Hollow Unfolds' albums which are all superb. Any other recommendations from this top filth-organ?

Raison D'etre's "In Sadness, Silence & Solitude" album from '97 was the first I got, and it's my yardstick for all other RD releases (though so far the only other one I physically -own- is "Requiem for Abandoned Souls" - how could I not, with that concept?)

any opinions where can i find "spektr"? i dont have a money to order it from some other country Candlelight has a extremely large distributation network, so, honestly, you could probably find it in any nearby record store (yes, even in the Czech Republic, heh). Darckcrawl, i'm kindly surprised that Solarkult wasn't easier to find! I've seen tons of distros that have it, namely THR (Total Holocaust Records), Autumn Winds Productions, and others. Perhaps they've gone out of stock as I speak; and perhaps I don't know the full details. What version (vinyl, or CD) did you obtain? (It was released on End All Life after all). But, aye, I do believe one needs to appreciate some form of Trance and/or Techno to really appreciate BlackLodge's intricacies, but, one can still enjoy it the same without! And, pertaining to the topic: A band that i've recently discovered (although not necessarily Axis sounding at all, but one I think fans can definately appreciate) is Negative Plane. Imagine a cross between the "First" wave of Black Metal (late 80s/early 90s) Thrash-style riffage, "Religious" Black Metal lyrics/aesthetic/layout, vocals drenched in decay and reverb, a church organ, tubular bells, and the technical skills to back them all up. They're released by The Ajna Offensive, but i'd reccomend picking them up from Norma Evangelium Diaboli for those in Europe.

Post Scriptvm. "Marginal Existence" is damn fine ambient mixed with sort of classical idustrial from hollow urbanistic places. Disturbing touches of void that's what it is. You will like it. P.S. By the way artwork is extremely nice.
