I would be tremendously interested in gazing upon some Axis-tabs too, preferably in Guitar Pro, if available. It would certainly force my filth-stricken mind even further down the halls of perdition, incorporating me a little further into the immense void of decay.

Yes this one is hell of an opener. I figured small part of the first riff. I also figured some fragments of To Walk the Corridors of Hell. I'm sure it's not absolutelly accurate because there is always more things than one can instantly notify. For example I took Where the World Becomes Flesh and played through mono. I noticed lots of hidden layers.
Yesterday night while tripping back home across empty town and having BAN's MoRT on my cd player, I thought how would TAOP sound with fretless guitars as now they are more darkbient and doomey music oriented.

the whole fretless instrument in this type of experimental music would be incredible, I really wish more people understood the value blut aus nord has to music creativity instead of just remarking about how dark and sonically experimental they are

It's basically impossible to figure out Axis-songs by ear; beside all the various layers of distortion and noise, the playing-style is way to foreign and jazzy for me to discern any patterns. And I do sincerely mean that in a positive way, the riffs are fucking amazing. ;D
As for fretless guitars, now, that would be interesting. A whole new realm of possibilities unfold, plunging even deeper down the corridors of hell!

i have often wondered about getting a cheap guitar and converting it to fretless for this exact reason. mikes riffs are weird 'cos hes a lefty, hes brain works different  |

I guess it is a question of time when curiosity will become unbearable. I most likely will get one for myself.
I already tried bow on guitar some time ago. Psychedelic. Especially when picking altered and weird shaped chords instead of single string. A very appropriate technique to create tense ambience.
