What's even more strange about that dream is that I used elevator to get into basement, haha.
Awaiting some pretty horrid nightmares when I hear the whole album!

Eighteen pounds thirty seven?! Fuck that, buy it from Code666 or alternatively from us when we get our copies through at a REASONABLE price. Plus, you'll get it in May when the actual release is.

theaxisofperdition.bandcamp.com/album/tenements-of-the-anointed-fleshSecond song posted friends. Just reminding in case you haven't noticed. No dreams for me this time (that day I dreamt about blut aus nord's gig, haha) only a demented smile in the ending of Flesh Spiral... Anyway can't cope very well with sound. Hope that it will sound better from original cd

I'm afraid, it's the final result, dude. Bandcamp player doesn't fuck-up sound of the tracks, and I'm sure TAOP guys have no intention to do it either (though in this case I myself would wish it would be otherwise). The production is as you hear it

I'd reserve judgement til you have a CD copy that you can digest over a few listens. The mixing decisions may seem a bit obscure and bewildering but as always with Axis, everything is done for a reason, and a conceptually-driven reason at that. The guitars are designed to sound grubby, grimey, fleshy, undulating and unpleasantly soft. The incisive sound of "Deleted Scenes", reflecting wire mesh, rusty implements and broken glass, would not be conceptually appropriate for "Tenements". As my Dad would put it, like it or lump it, it is what it is.

Definitely, Mike. I personally enjoy tone of the guitars very much actually. For grubby guitars they sound very clear to me:) I mean that's the first time, when listener can hear all the details, so excellent work on that, really, keeping in mind that this is quite a task given the density of this material. My guess it is probably the volume level, highs and lows that people find a bit inconsistent in the production.

Aye, that's right - it's all about the details this time round. I can't take any credit for the guitar sounds as Brooke designed those, he's engineered the guitar sounds from "Physical" onwards. I can't speak for Brooke too much but I know he doesn't like mastering too loudly as he feels it damages the dynamic range, he prefers to mix a bit quieter and then if people want it louder all they need to do is crank the volume on their stereo.

That's what he told us on The Weekend of Perdition. I can't argue with that!

I don't want to be a dick who's bragging because he's heard the new album but I thought I might share some impressions with you since... well you know you're my fellow hospital inmates and you might want to know what kind of drastic treatment awaits you...
Anyway: Tenements = Crime against humanity
Possible spoiler! So in case you don't want to know - gouge your eyes.
After the first listen I thought: What the hell was that right now? I simply felt that I've been listening to a hour of depraved evil noise. Interesting is that I consider Tenements to be even more "metal" than Ichneumon Methods anyway the effect of the album is much more different even though there are really violent and wrong parts. Too bad you won't hear Leslie too much anyway I'm sure that during one particular, concluding song you will especially miss mr. Urfe. Not sure what else I should tell you, there's a lot to say about this album yet I don't want to spoil too much. Maybe I'll just add that with some parts TAOP touched my personal definition of "perfect music" and I can't wait to have an original cd in my unworthy hands. I have feeling that music really reflects what the hell is going on in the lyrics/story + there is plenty of hidden details which demand the best quality possible.

I must confess, that I was a bit wrong about Bandcamp. It actually does decrease sound quality, and I noticed this yesterday.
Heard the new album as well, but I kinda didn't want to tease anyone and worsen their condition with that, since I know how it is painful for our fellow patients. I have to confirm everything you said about Tenements. That's true.

Unfortunately Les wasn't in a position to participate more at this point so we just had to deal with it as best we could, hence the somewhat uncharacteristic inclusion of liner notes. It may interest you to know that the liner notes were largely written before the music, except for a few riffs here and there. Once we had the story written down, the album pretty much wrote itself.

Somehow, my eyes could not avert themselves yet I feel little has been spoilt as I still don't know what to really expect, which is great! I did, however, get a strong feeling that Les would not be on it, as I gathered we would have heard. Perhaps there is less in the way of gross-out parts to the narrative as a result and more psychological, supernatural horror? As for the last song, I always imagined this would either have an atmosphere of great sorrow or elation. Eitherway, I can't wait! Please, no more 'spoilers'!! (This one was okay though
