I thought I'd start a thread for releases coming up that Axis... afficionados may be interested in.
Firstly, I received an e-mail today regarding the new Raison d'ĂȘtre album. It'll be called 'The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice' and clock in at 66 minutes. Should be out on Cold Meat Industries in the next couple of months. There should be some sound samples up soon on Myspace apparently.

It is been along time and probably Burzum lost it's actuality within nearly two decades. I found some short clips of the new songsI would love to hear recaptured Det som... and Hvis Lyset.. or even Filosofem vibes but it looks like this work will convey very different mood compared to previous works. I guess this is not surprising.

I am cautious but extremely excited about a new Burzum album finally arriving. I know there are samples about but I don't want to hear anything before I have a copy of the album in my hands.
Whatever direction Varg has taken, I am sure Belus will be unique, surprising and of course quite brilliant.

Yeah, unfortunately. And keeping in mind the fact about repetitive Burzum's musical nature in the past premonition of not so impressive things to come just gets stronger. Anyway, soon we'll find out the truth i guess.

Sounds pretty awful to me, and I even liked "Daudi Baldrs"...

He was never really going to live up to the hype. Still, a good album is a good album and this quite possibly won't be one of those.

So, Deathspell Omega is on it's way, but I assume that most of you know it by now. New album will be called Paracletus and will complete the trilogy, which was set with Si Monumentum. Really curious, what these guys are up to this time, given how good they became at dissociating sound from the concept in my humble opinion.

Sorry, my bad. Paracletus indeed. Cover is really sinister, so I hope music will be as well. Would love to hear them turning to less purposelessly disjointed and jagged manner like Kenose. Chaining the Katechon had some brilliant moments and sounded more organic then Fas in my opinion, so it gives some hope.

Well, every full-lenght of trilogy was completely different and the EP's just enhanced albums. Who knows maybe Paracletus will be just Fas 2.0 or something totally different and maybe even unheard. Or maybe lo-fi primitive recording. One never knows with Deathspell Omega. But november 8 is not far, so we'll soon see for ourselves.
Oh, and there's a funny rumour about copies of "Paracletus" being buried in various places around the world and that numbering of bible's quotes in booklet will give you GPS coordinates ;D Satanic geo-caching FTW!

Now about something completely different. Access to Arasaka is releasing new work under the title void(). Impressive, how he managed to put 2 albums in 1 year after Oppidan! Here is more information: tympanikaudio.com/releases/ta045/

Have that coming in the mail, really looking forward to it. Spektr are also releasing their new album this year, there's a teaser on their MySpace. Sounds like it might be their best so far.

This could be interesting. Spektr tend to create some quite neat ambience in their releases, though their black metal production could be better. This teaser shows some proper improvement in this case. Looks like they managed to do a better mixing this time. Sounds really promising.

Wow, loving the Spektr preview, sounds great. Drums sound similar in sound (and sometimes style) to the afore-mentioned Deathspell Omega during the quieter bits.
