By the way, the D.O. cover does look sinister....but it's a bit phallic too, what's that all about?

A new AboryM album normally does it for me. 'Psychogrotesque' is one huge long track, meant to be more difficult a listening according to the only (French) review I saw. Only thing is though, it is story of a mans journey through a mental asylum. I'm sure another band has done this before!

Well, Blut Aus Nord new album called 777 Sect(s) is to be released shortly, though you can actually find it in the torrents already. And as predicted, it resumes the character of TWWTG and MoRT, and that's something that puts smile of happiness on my face. What Once Was... Liber I made pretty dull impression to me, so the new one is quite refreshing to me.

Been looking forward to this for some time... had a listen to the samples a few nights ago and to put it quite simply, I am blown away already. Cannot wait to hear this complete piece of art when the CD arrives. Makes me want to never attempt to create music ever again when there are sounds like these out there.

The slower track on preview creates a really good atmosphere whereas the faster one sounds like it might go somewhere interesting. Looking forward to it a lot! There's an album due out soon by a band called 'The Axis of Perdition' which will be ace and fun too *trying not to vomit*

One of my favourite vocalists, Alan Dubin (Khanate, Gnaw, OLD) is making a guest appearance on the new Anaal Nathrakh album. Looking forward to it for that reason alone.

I found the new Blut Aus Nord slightly disappointing but it may just be a grower. It sounds like they were trying to emulate Deathspell but it could also be that they're just rusty (pun intended?) at the whole dissonant thing. It wasn't without its moments though. It was mostly the production that got me though.
I am quite looking forward to seeing what they do with the electronic/dubstep stuff once the trilogy is completed and 777 becomes a full project though. That was the part that caught me off guard in the most marvelous way.I'm sure things will pick up a little more on their next release.
I'm really looking forward to the new Anaal album though, the songs sound promising.
I'm very much looking forward to the new Portishead and My Bloody Valentine albums too, though they'll be coming very late this year.
If I may do some shameless self advertising as well, to all rust junkies and vagrant assholes out there, I'll be coming out with a ton more material this year and it might interest people interested in music in the vein of Pulsefear, Cities Last Broadcast, Oophoi, Beyond The Asylum and other musical degenerates and people who should never have been let near a recording device. Coming out with 1 more demo, 2 splits, a collaborative album, a re-mix of the very first demo, a 5 year anniversary compilation filled with remixes of old tracks, and a 2 cd full length of rusted power electronics and dark ambient. I'm hoping to get the compilation and the full length released on Sheevra Records.funera.bandcamp.com is the gateway. I do apologize for all that though, but it does relate to the upcoming releases.
On another note, I'm actually pretty big into hardcore music as well and the 2 side bands from one of my favorites are both coming out with releases this year. Ambush! split into 2 bands, Sin Eater and Our Lives. Our Lives have a little teaser up.

It get's my stamp of approval. Not quite as good as Perdition City or Blood Inside or Themes or anything like that but still satisfying enough!

Fair enough. You could have said it is terrible and I most likely would have still bought it so I'm not even sure why I asked

New Deathspell Omega MCD, In June. “Drought” has the sour taste of the inexorable; it is a musical journey through the last moments before disaster hits. This recording displays some of the most lethal song writing ever witnessed from the entity while retaining the unmistakable sound. Artwork

I'm glad you posted that. I'm terrible at staying abreast of new releases these days and new Deathspell is very worth getting excited about. Paracletus is now and comfortably my favourite of records of theirs. It managed to be accessible yet still dizzyingly dense and challenging, shorter but their most immensely satisfying work to date. Not inconsistent, filled with great moments punctuated by tedious ones like Fas and SMRC. If I was a little younger I would have truly obsessed over Paracletus, as it is I just worship it. Sorry if that's hyperbolic!
I notice more Burzum is due shortly. That can only be greeted with cautious optimism, especially as I consider the rerecordings he did pointless to the point of never bothering to listen to it. I really liked Belus and quite liked Fallen, so I'm sure Umskiptar will be a charming listen at the very least.
Perhaps not a concern of this forum, but I am currently debating whether or not to buy Marilyn Manson's latest. Unlike many, I thought Eat Me, Drink Me was excellent despite lacking a theatrical identity, but The High End of the Low really was poor (Four Rusted Horses being its sole saving grace for me). I was perhaps the world's biggest MM fan from 1998 up to but NOT including Golden Age of Grotesque. Not being excited by a new Manson record doesn't sit well with me. I think I've said too much...

Ok, Blut Aus Nord enthusiasts. To everyone who doesn't know it yet, it looks like a vinyl release of "The Work Which Transforms God" is coming this way some time soon. The cover art
