As some of you may know Mine[thorn] are currently recording thier first album so im going to be keeping a recording diary of sorts here for the band to post in. just for the sake of tidyness can you post any questions in the questions board and comments else where...yes i know im a fussy bugger ! ;D

I arrived here in Dewsbury on Friday afternoon and pretty much spent the weekend setting up in Dans kitchen...yes really the album is getting recorded in a Kitchen... getting sounds sorted and saying howdy to folks in the area. 14/08/06We are starting with tracking the drums, Dan is playing a Roland TD12 VDrum set (loaned by a mate, thanks Ian) we are recording the midi out and a stereo audio out. The midi will be used to trigger a drum Rompler program called DFHSuperior and the audio is just there as a rough guide. Once the drums are mixed down as Wav's, mixed and proceed then they will be nigh indistinguishable from a nicely mic'ed acoustic kit. for more info on DFHSuperior go to www.toontrack.com and listen to the samples if you don't believe me! We managed to track 3 songs worth of drums, that may not seem like much but they are getting extensively worked on at the same time. not too mention Dan still has work to fit in as well. we are hoping to at least keep this level of productivity up. more tomorrow and hopefully some photo's at some point! well today there was just more tracking of drums. we got four more songs done, and some new parts popped up as we where jamming. tomorrow is curry night at the west riding OOO YEAH!

16 - 18/08/06
We have now finished the drum tracks, huzzah! Dan celebrated with weeun who has just arrived here by getting so drunk he could just to say stand, then thought it would be a good idea to order curry and pizza from the takeaway for himself...what a loon.
Tonight is the launch party for Jamies first album from his solo industrial project ESA then tomorrow will be our first and last gig as a two peice. on monday, if not before we will start tracking the guitars and bass

19 - 22/08/06
ARAHRGHGRGH I HAVE HEAD EXPLODEY!!!!!!!!
all but 2 songs have had the guitar parts completed and in only 2 days, suffice to say that they have been some pretty intense sessions and it comes across in the recordings.
we also played our first and last gig as just a two peice, it went realy well and there will be some live pics and footage surfacing shortly. Tomorrow is the final 2 guitar tracks, then bass and we will also be starting vocals with our new vocalist Gez..he ...is....a ...monster.....

the bass parts are done...finito...10 songs in 4 hours, me and Weeun are both fucked, it was a pretty mental session but we are done. tonight we begin the vocals....looks like its going to be an all night session....joy......we have seen the photo's from the gig and they look awsome and in a few hours we are doing our first proper photo shoot..should be a laugh....

Well the photo shoot is done and the pics are looking ace, there are now some live pics up on our myspace...and some live footage as soon as I figure out this you tube nonsence.
the vocal session went ahead though we changed venue from Dans seller to Gez's (our singer) 800 year old resturaunt....there where some unusual goings on and aparatnly a small girl hung herself in the orchard out back....nice.....Any how the sessions went fine so now its only the 'industrial' elements that are left to do before mixing...woooooooo

well thats it all the vocals, drums guitars and bass are done, we are just waiting on Jamie for his contribution, and then its mixing and mastering and off to the label. In the mean time im back home in the boro planing on doing a whole load of nothign untill its time to mix.
