Basicaly it was all down to timing, BAN's label merged with candlelight which meant the split would have been released only a month or two before 'deleted scenes' and this was a bit too close though hopefully axis and BAN will work together at some point in the future.
if you want to listen to them properly then BAN's half came first as this was someone going down through a buidling into a basment and then finding the entrance to a sewer wich is where the axis half starts

Hopefully one day we will collaborate properly. Both parties have good intentions, for what that's worth, which may not be a great deal in practice given that we're both perenially busy and uncompromising, not necessarily in that order. To be fair BAN seem to be on a different, less urban trip at the moment, but it's a good 'un, so well done them. "Odinist" definitely gets a big thumps up from us. Still, we can live in un-hope. There's still something there, lingering, waiting to be exploited when the time is right...

I guess they peaked on the Urban-side with Mort. I don't know how they could out-bleak that one but then, all you chaps seem quite good at blowing away all expectations. It'll be interesting to see how the follow-up to 'Thematic...' turns out. More experimentation I think I remember reading.

I never really thought of trying to listen those releases in a row. Strange. If talking about BAN's musical intentions perhaps this short interview might clear up a bit few things about the current direction of BAN. Or might not. Nevertheless this is interesting anyway. www.lordsofmetal.nl/showinterview.php?id=1912&lang=en

I found a very interesting video concerning BAN's ep. I don't know how much familiar you are with legendary director Jan Svankmajer from Czechia but his one of the movies perfectly fits for visualization of one track. Watch it. It's awesome.
