Brooke has just finished working with the above band and a 3 track demo should be online soon via mspace. I think the best way to describe it is as 'New Millenium Plague Metal'

"New Millenium Plauge Metal"..... that's interesting enough for me. I'll be awaiting this demo.

What the Web Slave seems not to have mentioned is that Vortex is his band, hes the one named Kachihara.

It seems that Web Slave has some dark secrets. I'm going to check the track(s) out as soon as I find them.

I believe this calls for a congratulations, sir Webslave! I was thouroughly impressed by the tracks, I especially liked "Reign of the Worm" (as of first listen). It certainly does take a nice dose of chaos to the ears. Now, I must say... Brooke's vocals distinctly remind me of a style i've heard in another band- (no, i'm not trying to be funny) - but I seriously can't think of whom it could be.

It may be me just getting confused by your post but I didnt actualy do any vocals for Vortex. The vocalist is some one entirely unrelated to The Axis, he also sings in another band but wants the two projects to remain as seperate as possible so will remain anonymous. As stated I only recorded and mixed the demo and provided the lead on the end of 'Reign...' may be you have heard his other band?

Ack, no, you aren't the one confused... it 'twas I. I mis-read the above information, and thought that you were the vocalist, my apologies! Perhaps I have heard his other band (if I knew what it was, heh.) but I believe it just has a certain style that i've heard before.... and, not that it's bad, I just can't think of the simillar band for the life of me.

Really like it, very cool. Is this the first or second demo? Got a little confused by the blurb, couldn't work out if the stuff is the first demo that Brooke then mixed, or a seperate second demo.

the songs online are from the second demo wich had the same songs on as the first. The was that big a gap in the first demo being recorded and the project being revitalised that I felt that the instruments should be, rerecorded, the vocals where from a session about a year or so ago. Brooke did both demos for us, the first one was done just after Ichneumon method and has a very similar sound in the interveningtime the studio set up has grown as have Brookes abillities (being near enough a complete novice on the ichneumon sessions) Brooke was sure that now he could fully do Vortex justice and give it a seperate sound/identity from Axis, happily this coincided with me haveing the time and intent to work on it. As per your myspace question, We dont have plans to release the demo per-se' which is why its up for download (as the Art will be soon) so feel free to download and distribute as you see fit (as long as its for free) We are gonna shop it to labels to see if we can get a deal and hopefully release an album, My head is full of filthy riff germs and vast ideas of DOOM!
