A recent discusion of guitars and basses got me searching for the instrument i would use if i had a band that would fit in here. I think i found it. This is undoubtably the AXE i would use to cut a swath through the detritus and waste of the UDC. I present to you (unless you have already seen it) the 2009 Schecter Apocalypse i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt188/Freq09/Schecter%20Apocalypse%202009/DSCF6892.jpg Sorry for the link - i couldn't figure out how to attach it inline. Also i apologize to whoever owns this for hijacking his pictures. My fav part other than it looks like it is super decayed its the gasmask inlay! There are other pics avail in that same photo album. I would be interested in seeing the actual instruments that you all use to create the music discussed here as part of my education. This includes UDC bands and also people here in home therapy. Please post pictures if you can.

Indeed, that is a very snazzy guitar. All I have at the moment is a midi keyboard, loads of cheap/free VSTI's and a rather crappy guitar desperately in need of new strings. I'm sub-par at best with the former and about the most impressive thing I can do with the latter is play some Scum era Napalm Death stuff Come to think of it, it would be nice to have a thread/section dedicated to discussing gear, techniques etc.

Now that a rusty looking thing! Lovely. Come to think of it, it would be nice to have a thread/section dedicated to discussing gear, techniques etc. Agree. I actually don't see any reason why this thread shouldn't include all these topics as well even though those who paste their projects here mostly are interrogated by The Moderator about those things As for the gear I possess 3 guitars (two 6strings and one 7string). Later one I'll attach pictures of them though they don't look anything special but if thread starter wants it then so be it.

They don't need to be special (I own nothing after all), i just want to see actual instruments used to create. I saw a pic mod posted (on Axis myspace page i think) of what appeared to be a living room with equipment in all 4 corners and wires running everywhere and it may not have been special but i found it quite fascinating even though i didn't know what a lot of it was. Also lately i have been looking through the web for instruments of interest since a discussion in another thread. No one has to post pics if they don't want. Gear discussions are fine (although I prob won't understand them) and also if you want to show pics of gear you want or just think looks cool or something I would like to see those too (just label as such). The apocalypse was apparently a limited edition. Schecter's website has a 2010 limited edition model called Radiation which looked ok, but it seemed liked a sticker instead of a good paint job. I will continue to crawl through the web looking for a more representative instrument (hopefully physically decayed as well as paint) and post if i find one. EDIT: btw - if this is only interesting to me and not to everyone else we can stop it here - not a problem.

So here you go. My first guitar that I obtained about 8 years ago or so. It is hand made monolith made according to Gibson Flying V model. Had and still has some defects, but sounds really good. Some people find a bit uncomfortable but I'm quite used to it. All Haeiresis material till now was done with it. My third guitar. I needed something a bit more appropriate with slimmer fretboard for technical playing. B.C.Rich Ironbird. It's quite old instrument and went through a lot of repairing. Still more fix might need to do in the future but for now it works really well. Has a great sustain by the way but not so comfortable to play while you stand. Finally, my second guitar. Some of you may recognize it . It is 7stringed Ibanez Prestige formerly owned by Brooke and I was very lucky to win it on e-bay. Great instrument. Very comfortable and has beautifully resonating sound. Due to not so powerful pickups the attack sounds quite mellow but unfortunately sustain is not so lengthy as I would want to (though it might be several reasons for that not only this one). But I just love it and am very happy with it.

I will get some pictures up of my equipment soon everything is sort of in flux as of right now. At the moment I own 2 Electric Basses (8-string and 5-string) 2 Acoustic guitars (1 steel string, 1 Classical) and 2 Electric guitars (both 6 strings, 1 being converted to fretless).
I remember at one point I knew of a company that would refinish guitars bodies to look rusted and weathered, if memory serves they were based in britain and did high quality work. if I remember the name I will throw up a link.

I have a tendancy to not think things through before I type or say them and after rereading my original posts I think I may not really be sure what i wanted or intended and it may be too intrusive to ask for pics. what i think I wanted was just to know what equipment people used to make actual music and what would be neat instruments to have, but i think i phrased the whole thing badly. So feel free to turn this thread into anything you want.
Tyranor: I think they are very nice. You said they were not anything special, but i'm sure that a handmade guitar you used to make your music holds many memories and feelings. Thank you for sharing.
necris: That company sounds interesting. Hope you remember who they are.
I'm crawling back to my hospital room now, covering myself in filth, and sitting in the corner again until i can start to form (in)coherent thoughts again.

what appeared to be a living room with equipment in all 4 corners and wires running everywhere That was the Pulsefear myspace, the pics should still be up. It was a live jam from several years ago in preparation for The Old Town Hall. I know what you mean though I'm a complete nerd for that sort of thing. I'm currently planning a some custom work to a few of my guitars. If there is one thing musicians are happy to do its show people their instruments and talk gear.

In my personal case, I own 2 guitars : Jackson WRMG Transparent Black and a Jackson Dinky JS (not so good). My amp is a hybrid Randall RH300 and I also uses a Digitech RP500 Multieffect that allows me a better equalization in the goal to get a even colder sound. The other guitarist owns a Jackson Rhoads RR3 and a Peavey 6505+ with a Boss GE-7, both Randall and Peavey are plugged into a 4X12 Marshall cab 1960A.
I'm thinking of buying a BC. Rich Ironbird like you Tyranor to make modifications and tinkering.
