...I decided to go and have a look around the West Park Asylum near me, closed and emptied in 2002. I spent a good 2.5 hours in there too. If you want to have a peak at my attempted re-creation of an Axis album cover and my other Urbex photos of today, go here: photobucket.com/DarkcrawlRe-creation of 'Deleted Scenes...': i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu333/Darkcrawl/DSCF2039.jpgThe photo after shows what's on the post-it note. Unjoy!

I can't believe it, why don't we have temples of corrosion like that one in France !!!! It is such a shame that some pictures are blurry, I guess your camera wasn't quite able to shoot fast in darkness... I just love all the wheelchair picts, were they just in the place you've shot them ? Did you found lot of them ? I recently visited a decayed house in Nice (France) it was pretty beautiful in there, maybe I'll post some photos too.

Cool photos! Quite awe-inspiring. There was a topic dedicated to a "urban-explorations and stuff", wasn't it? can't find it now so I¨ll post it here www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJLMGMkukDs Ostrava is city where I study and there are rusty monuments like this quite frequent though not as big as this one. There are public excursions from time to time unfortunatelly I didn¨t have a chance to be a part of one yet. And in my home-town we have a lots of desolated shelters (border region) built when we wanted Poles to keep their distance from us after WWI, hehe. It is quite easy to run into one which is not sealed. I once got lost in one without any light source as a kid (playing hide-n'-seek I guess), fuck I was scared :-D

St. Mary's near the Axis guys has all but gone and this one will soon. Re the photos: I'm learning how to improve them all of the time and didn't have a very good idea at this time. That was the famous 'lonely chair' of West Park Asylum. I'm pleased I found it though I missed the Morgue and the Padded Cell. Necrogeddon- I had a similar experience here as there are few ways in and out and the asylum is HUGE. I was running out of water and found an exit just in time!

Not to make light, but this sounds like the beginning of every asian horror film . Necrogeddon- I had a similar experience here as there are few ways in and out and the asylum is HUGE. I was running out of water and found an exit just in time! We should start a 'what scared me to death thread'. While i was in no actual danger, i did get lost in an actual hospital while visiting my grandmother when i was 8. I went back to her room by myself to get something i forgot, got off the elevator, turned the wrong way a few times and ended up in a dark area and proceeded to panic. I don't remember much after i got scared, but my father always tells me they found me hiding under an empty nurses station screaming my lungs out. He seems quite amused by this and loves telling people, I don't know why.
