Something totally un-Axis-like from me. If Axis is an outpouring of all the horrible things about Middlesbrough and Teesside in general, Aureolis celebrates the good things; the history, the heritage, the countryside, the memories. Basically everything you see if you avoid looking at the actual bit of land in the Tees Estuary pockmarked by the horrible tumourous growths of urban decay and industry that we like to call Middlesbrough, aka Locus Eyrie, aka a shithole. I've got guys from Wodensthrone/That Hideous Strength helping me out with this one. Chris has a mean Ihsahn impression going. The demos are a bit ropey but I think the songs are solid. www.myspace.com/weareaureolis

This is rather unexpected project from you though playing style is recognizible. Really suprising one by it's complete opposition to U.D.C. easthetics. It does remind me Kvist a bit from aformentioned bands. "Ropey" in the sense of "sticky"? Drums could be a little more vivid and production (guitar sound for instance) is very similar to one Phaleg has i think Tasty anyway.

I approve very much! You're right about Ihsahn comparisons. While I like the vocals, I'd prefer it if they didn't sound so much like him. Of course, if it was him, I wouldn't have any gripes. Love the riffs though and the overall atmosphere. Hope you guys get signed soon!

"Ropey" in the sense of sticky....hahaha, you've been listening to too much TAOP sir. "Ropey" in the sense that the performances are a bit rough.
In fairness, Chris's vocals are so Ihsahn-like because that's what I asked of him, I think we might tone it down when it comes to recording properly...

you've been listening to too much TAOP sir. "Ropey" in the sense that the performances are a bit rough. Guilty as charged. It is about 4 years already since TAOP attached itself to my brain. Yeah, it feels like a bit rough. I don't know maybe it's like instinctive stereotype or something that everything done by you comes more or less "sticky"
