Now we finally know who is the father of the bastard child we are familiar with. And those are pretty tracks. Like if The Axis would be simplified to black metal but still you can't shake the aura at least because once again one hears the voice of Brooke. I personally enjoy that organic mix of the 1st and 2nd BM waves sound and seaming it with your typical use of discordant and modified chord shapes. There is a release date indicated. It says: 01/01/2009. Is this true?

Nice, I had a technical black metal project with the same name, now I'll have to change it. "Phaleg" logo: Click here. The good thing is that I have another name on my mind: Aratron. (Yeah, the governer of Saturn). I have an one man band called Nøwhere, something I'd describe as "extreme progressive metal", but it doesn't fit too well, it sounds like a mixture of Opeth, Origin, Bloodbath with some Axis-influenced sections, and trip hop ones as well. (Read "trip hop" as "Silent Hill low-tempo music") Back to Phaleg. Well... It's awesome, I really liked it. The disonance... Oh... The disonance... Hope to see more soon.

I didn't notice there was a release date bit but no, I haven't got a release of any kind sorted yet. Nowhere, I heartily recommend going with Aratron.... Apart from anything else, if you went with Ophiel instead I'd have to rename the post-Coil/TG electronic album I've nearly finished Ironically, Phaleg was originally called Kaleb but then we found a metal band from the midlands already called that, so I changed it to Phaleg because it's superficially similar and has all the cool associations going for it.

Really like the tracks. Recognise those chord progressions (depressions?) especially about 2 thirds of the way through the second track.

There's been a finished version of the album kicking around since the end of October. I chatted to a couple of labels about it but so far nothing's come of it. Me and Brooke think if we can sort out a proper release then we may well rerecord it, as there's a few things we've learnt with the equipment since then which would make it sound better. If we do that I might press the current myspace tracks as a limited promo CD or something.

Phaleg's new EP, "Your Pretty Flesh Is Going To Hell", is now available for playback via the Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/abjectionanddenial). When we get back from Bloodstock we'll upload CD quality .wavs and Hi-Res artwork to the new Downloads section. Unjoy!

Hell yeah! But why have you put down tracks "Your Pretty Flesh Is Going To Hell" and "Redeemer"? Aren't they included in this EP?

Nah, the EP's tracks are:
1. The End Is Not Enough 2. Taste The Plague 3. Abjection & Denial
The others are all about the be rerecorded, so I took them down except for "Blood Is Poison", which I left up just because it's my favourite of the original three we uploaded. I also forgot that Myspace now allows more than four songs now...

I noticed curious thing about two of your projects though a bit to late. Not much of the revelation but it is kind of funny. I assume that names Phaleg and Ophiel you took because of their appearance in Silent Hill right? And both of them are located in the same area. I would speculate that there may or may not appear another project namely Hagith? May i be impatient and ask when will EP be finally available? Two months passed since you announced it.

Hahaha, might as well cover all bases I suppose. I too am looking forward to knowing when the EP will finally be made available.

Haha! Yeah, I didn't exactly go to great lengths to cover my tracks did I? As it happens Ophiel and Phaleg were the only two I was interested in using due to their broader meanings and associations. Phaleg, in particular, is also a biblical word for a military division, and the name of the architect of the Tower Of Babel, who abandoned his creation in disgust after it was ruined by humanity; the misanthropy of that appealed to me. Ophiel is the Olympian Spirit of art and creativity, so it's there to denote total artistic freedom. I also think it's a very pretty word.
