Given the tendency for urban decay to show up pretty consistently in Axis artwork and (I think?) in Axis lyrics, I'm curious - are there are other urban explorers here, either amongst the band, or amongst the other board users? I have done some exploration myself - some trips to a vacant factory and a vacant apartment complex in my city's east side (i.e., the wrong side of the tracks) and several trips to a former train station, as well as a legit trip inside a former psychiatric hospital. If there's interest, I have some photos from these trips on my photo page at picasaweb.google.com/TaurNuFuin. Not everything there is of abandonments, but much of it is - and there are also several (exterior) galleries of the local abandoned insane asylum (Buffalo State Hospital), which I suspect is more than in keeping with the sensibilities here. (Sadly, I had to sign a legal agreement that I would not post any of my photos from inside the place before they let me in).

I've visited a couple of places. Nowhere of much interest. The places I really wanted to go to explore which are no longer possible are Monkton Fairleigh- a former quarry turned into an underground city during WW2 for the storage of munitions. It goes on for miles about 60 ft + underground. There is a very good book about it by Neil McCamley (Secret Underground Cities). Some guys from the 28 Days Later UE forum used to go there but companies have purchased the lot and no access remains. The photos on 28 Days Later are stunning if you can find them.
