...Is the band featuring Axis bassist Ian and vocalist Brooke more information can be found at: www.minethorn.co.ukand I believe they also now have a my space page. Quite different from Axis but still rather cool non the less. Thier debut album 'Junkhive Noir' will be released on Code666 later this year early next.

Looked at the page, I'm looking forward to this. As someone who likes the more disturbing/industrial side of extreme music (for example, Aborym, Red Harvest, TAOP, Deathspell Omega, etc), do I qualify as potentially thinking this will be amazing?!

who can say! they are keeping it underwraps and I've only heard the mp3's on my space and one other album track called 'Consumer' which was kick ass, from what they have told me Density (the album track on my space) sets the standard from the rest of the album. though as you know from Axis they have a tendancy to through up surprises.

wasn't 'junkhive noir' a demo? is this a re-release of that or is it just that you're using the same name twice? looking forward to actually hearing something from them though. can somone post the address of their myspace page

Yup junkhive noir was the name of a song on a demo of the same name, that song has been re-recorded for the album, it was always Brookes intention to call the first album that, infact I think he had the name before he had the music its taken over 3 years for him to get to use it. www.myspace.com/minethorn

The name "Junkhive Noir" in an odd way is the completion of a kind of trade-off with Axis. It was originally a potential title Brooke came up with for the first Axis album, though obviously we eventually went with "The Ichneumon Method", which was the title of the second Minethorn demo back in the pre TAOP days. So in a way its usage now is a kind of full circle in the relationship between the two bands, or maybe some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy...

I've heard an alpha mix of the full album now. It has 11 tracks about 55 mins long and is seriously heavy. It has a completely different atmosphere to Axis, where Axis is claustrophobic Mine[thorn] is vast. I can see a lot that Axis fans would dig about it and a lot that they might not like, a possible analogy would perhaps be Godflesh,Neurosis and SYL jamming whilst the earth is crushed by city sized Alien machines from HR Gigers brain...im going for a nice quite sit down.

Any release date yet for the album? been playing three tracks I got hold of a lot and they are very, very cool.
Could we see a joint Axis and Mine(thorn) tour anytime in the future?

Not a tour for the time being, no, but nevertheless...hold that thought. News forthcoming.
