Hi all.....recently I started my own solo musical project seperate to the other bands that I'm in. This one concentrates on a concept and is rather lo-fi as I only learned how to use a drum machine 3 days ago. Please have a listen...mostly for fans of bands such as Drudkh and other droney black metal. There is only one song - The Gauze Chamber - up at the moment but I will be recording more soon. Hopefully of much better quality. The link for this track is www.myspace.com/kitana39sconsulComments are muchly appreciated. Thanks...Mat.

Got a second song up on myspace now called 'Element and the 10th'....there's not much to say other than it introduces the first named character (Element) and please go and have a listen.
Thanks!

good stuff, some great riffs in the second one. the drum programming could really use some work though. Can i have the details of how you are recording please as I may be able to offer some advice. Brooke

Thanks a lot man, much appreciated. Yea the drums are very basic as I only learned how to use it a very short time ago (two weeks at the most!).
Basically, the way I'm recording at the moment is programme the drum machine (it's a boss DR-5, rather old and cheap!), record it in Cool Edit. Then I record guitar using the line-out from my amp although I have been meaning to mic it up and see how that sounds. The bass is done in the same way, as well as the vocals. Everything is then mixed in Cool Edit aswell.
Not an ideal set-up in the slightest but it's what I have and as I can't afford any new equipment it's pretty much the only way I can do anything at the moment! hehe
But any advice at all will be taken on board thanks. And if I do come into any money soon by saving up or otherwise I'll look into getting new stuff.

Not bad stuff really. Dusky and obscure. That means listenable

I too have received unjoy from your tracks. I think you could develope this project into something really good. I'll keep my freshly-touched eyeball peeled (literally) on this.

Nah nothing so far...I'm swamped with uni work and my other band at the moment (of which I just do vocals in). No new songs have been written.
I did put up a few messages on the net asking if anyone needed a support band in this style just to see what these songs'd be like live, but alas no such luck in finding a gig! hehe.
I'm hopefully getting Cubase soon so that should help with the quality of drums at least.
I'm doing a module at uni at the moment called Computers and Music (what this has to do with my animation course I have no idea?!) and for that we have to produce a music track so I may just end up doing a new Kitana's Consul one. It should be decent quality this time what with being able to use the uni's equipment.
Are there any programmes that anyone could recommend please? Either drum machines, recording, sequencers etc. anything at all that might help.
Thanks for the interest and kind comments everyone...Mat.

www.myspace.com/kitanasconsul Please visit the link above. For the past few weeks I've been working on a Kitana's Consul debut demo. It's called "Beneath It All" and is available now. Please check out the page or message me for details. Please forgive the horrible quality of the production on the myspace page, I had to convert the songs to mp3's, trust me....they sound MUCH better on CD. Thanks a lot...Mat.
