Ooh...I'll upload this over the next few days. I play Fear of the Flesh quite often and I'm not usually a noise/ power electronics person (though I have a soft spot for Sistrenatus too). You could be the first artist to release exclusively using the Dongle medium with a little picture on it as artwork. In all seriousness, a physical release would be awesome if you ever have the means or label interest.

I think even industrial/noise scene is becoming too conservative to a larger degree nowadays. Since Cauldhame does not escalate misogyny, racial hate, politics, religion (correct me if I'm wrong) and other negative over-exposure of our reality, It somewhat stays a bit of an outsider act in this field. Of course, that's only my personal assumption. But the atmosphere that I perceive from these sounds, are somewhat a lot more interesting and immersive than some of those largely acclaimed acts. To me Cauldhame sounds like VERY VERY VERY rusty, over-decayed (and even beyond that) dark ambient.

That pretty much hits the nail on the hand - I wanted to do something in that soundworld, but exploring things that I'm interested in thematically and aesthetically, which rules out those topics. If that means I slip through the cracks of the industrial/noise seen, it's other people's loss. I might publish the lyrics at some point to clarify things.

In my last message I meant "nail on the head" - a Freudian slip perhaps?
Anyway I'm proud to say that Cauldhame is featured in this month's Power Lines section of Zero Tolerance mag (it's the one with Ulver on the cover).

I've (at last!) got round to giving this a proper immersive listen and I have to say it's nasty! My thoughts are no different to the previous posts which I think got it spot-on but it's some quality, though horrible, stuff. I'm particulaly enjoying the last few tracks which seem to amplify the feeling of loneliness and dread. Great stuff!

Cheers for the heads up; I'll think about it but I'm struggling to think of an approach to the topic that interests me...

You don't need to try very hard. They already have a general topic for this one:
"A COMPILATION FOR SP RECORDINGS. 'CASTRATION' compilation guidelines: -Power electronics, experimental noise, death industrial, HNW, and field recordings. -Track must be LESS THAN 10 minutes. -Highest bitrate possible. -Male or female castration is the theme, literal or figurative, mental or physical, ritual or chemical, and so on... -This is will be released on lightscribed CDRs, and we have 300 CDRs total we are choosing to work with. It will most likely be limited to a 4 audio disc set, with a data disc containing the entire net release, which will also be released on SPNet."

Aye, that's what I mean; the theme of castration doesn't really interest me, except in such a figurative or representative way that it could just as easily be about anything else. If I think of something before the deadline, I might have a go.

Seems a strange one to base an entire CD compilation on.....still, each to their own.

I did participate with my project on this one. I already had additional track so I thought why not. If everyone who submitted a track will be approved, edition will be too small for every artist to get a hold at least one copy of it. I find this fact rather comical.
